Inter-terminal transportation

Both terminals are separated and accessible from independent roadways.


Light Rail Transit (LRT) connects both terminals of Minneapolis Airport. Service provided for free.



- Terminal 1: Below the Transit Center, between blue and red ramps. From the Tram Level you can take it straight to the Transit Center.


- Terminal 2: On the north side of the Orange Ramp. Get there by taking the elevator or escalator from Level 1.


Service hours: 24/7, every 10 minutes on peak times and 15 minutes off peak hours.

- Bus: Metro Transit Route 54 is the city bus service, only available at Terminal 1. Passengers that travels from Terminal 2 should take the rail service to reach T1. Greyhound Bus Service and Charter Buses are also available.

- Light Rail Transit: Service is provided from T1 and T2 and run between Downtown Minneapolis and the Mall of America. Trains depart every 10 min. during peak hours and during the rest of hours run every 15 minutes approx. Travel time: 12- 25 minutes (depending on your destination).

- Taxi: Get within 25 minutes to downtown Minneapolis. Taxis wait outside each terminal from Tram Level (Terminal 1) and from Ground Level (Terminal 2).
